The Plug and Play Device ID of a camera may be useful when troubleshooting issues. The Plug and Play Device ID is defined as the combination of the Vendor ID (VID) and Product ID (PID). Follow the steps below to retrieve it.
Launch the Device Manager
- Launch the Start Menu by clicking on the Windows button
- Type "device"
- Click on Device Manager
Open the Properties pane of the desired camera
- Expand the Cameras node
- Right-click on the desired camera
- Select Properties
Select Hardware IDs
- Select the Details tab
- Select Hardware IDs in the Property pull-down menu
Note Down the Plug and Play Device ID
Note down the four characters after "VID_" (A) and the four characters after "PID_" (B). In the example bellow it is 04F2 and B614 which corresponds to the Plug and Play Device ID 04F2-B614. Alternatively, you can screen shot this screen by pressing WINDOWS-SHIFT-S to later paste it into a message or document.
